Doping Induced Inhomogeneity in High-t C Superconductors ⋆
نویسنده
چکیده
Doping and disorder are inseparable in the superconducting cuprates. Assuming the simplest possible disordered doping, we construct a semiphenomenological model and analyze its experimental consequences. Among the affected experimental quantities are the ARPES spectra and thermodynamic properties. From our model we make a prediction for the width of the local superconducting gap distribution with the only experimentally unknown parameter being the superconducting correlation length. Thus, our model provides a direct way of determining the superconducting correlation length from a known experimental gap distribution. PACS numbers: 74.20.-z, 74.25.Dw

Superfluid and normal fluid density in high-T c superconductors
The electronic properties of the cuprate superconductors have been studied by measuring the reflectance over the frequency range from the far-infrared to the near-ultraviolet (roughly, 10 meV-5 eV). There is an interesting behavior in both the normal state and the superconducting state. In the normal state, there is the well-known non-Drude distribution of the doping-induced spectral weight. In...

Starting from a t-J model, we introduce inhomogeneous terms to mimic stripes. We find that if the inhomogeneous terms break the SU(2) spin symmetry the binding between holes is tremendously enhanced in the thermodynamic limit. In any other model (including homogeneous models) the binding in the thermodynamic limit is small or neglible. By including these inhomogeneous terms we can reproduce exp...
متن کاملCharge and spin inhomogeneity as a key to the physics of the high Tc cuprates
We present a coherent scenario for the physics of cuprate superconductors, which is based on a chrge-driven inhomogeneity, i.e. the “stripe phase”. We show that spin and charge critical fluctuations near the stripe instability of strongly correlated electron systems provide an effective interaction between the quasiparticles, which is strongly momentum, frequency, temperature and doping depende...
متن کاملField-induced quantum critical route to a Fermi liquid in high-temperature superconductors.
In high-transition-temperature (T(c)) superconductivity, charge doping is a natural tuning parameter that takes copper oxides from the antiferromagnet to the superconducting region. In the metallic state above T(c), the standard Landau's Fermi-liquid theory of metals as typified by the temperature squared (T(2)) dependence of resistivity appears to break down. Whether the origin of the non-Ferm...
متن کاملRelationships between the superconducting gap , pseudogap and transition temperature in high - T c superconductors
Relationships between the superconducting gap, pseudogap and transition temperature in high-T c superconductors Abstract The crossover from superconducting gap to pseudogap is considered. We show that the superconductivity is destroyed at the temperature T c , with the superconducting gap being smoothly transformed into the pseudogap. Relations, which are of general interest, between the maximu...
